Design and construction of fiber optic communication lines, fiber optic cable laying, installation of fiber.
Fiber-optic lines, abbreviated FOL, are a form of communication in which communication is carried out by optical dielectric waveguides or optical fiber.
Today optical fiber is well deserved is the most optimal physical environment for high-quality streaming media. By optical fibers without any damage information can be transmitted over long distances.
FOL have many advantages this is why recently laying of fiber optic lines is more and more often used in the construction of structured cabling systems (SCS), which are part of the infrastructure of any modern building and bring together a variety of information services (telephone networks, local networks, information networks, security systems, video surveillance systems, etc.).
So how are fiber-optic lines better than, for example, copper lines and why is the construction of FOL implemented more and more often?
So, the main advantages of FOL are:
- Due to the wide bandwidth of optical fiber can transmit importan tinformation flows;
- Optical fiber is characterized by low signal attenuation, so FOL enable to transmit information over long distances;
- Optical fiber is distinguished by high impenetrability;
- Fiber-optic lines are not susceptible to interference.
Optical fiber is distinguished by long life (over 25 years). Unfortunately, FOL have some drawbacks. These include, first, the relatively high cost of the particular components of a fiber-optic line, which is why FOL installation is quite expensive. Second, since optical fiber (as compared to copper lines) is somewhat fragile, the laying of a fiber optic cable requires the use of special expensive equipment. Third, in case of FOL break, its recovery will require much higher costs (material, time, etc.) than the recovery of a copper line break. Before the start of construction of a fiber optic line a complex of preparatory work is performed, in other words, the FOL design, which includes the installation of supports, fixation of mounting clips, preparation of places for laying a fiber optic cable, and check of cable channels. At the same stage necessary materials and equipment are purchased. Upon the completion of preparation of a cable laying route, the installation of optical fiber starts. In the process of work special-purpose equipment is used. During the installation it is important to observe all the rules of working with fiber optics; one should strictly adhere to the permissible bending radius of optical cable, the maximum permissible weight under tension or compression, etc.
In the final phase of FOL construction tests of the constructed optical system and its commissioning are performed.
It is out of the question that the design and laying of optical fiber requires the participation of experts with extensive
experience and special skills in the construction of SCS.
The use of quality materials and skilled FOL installers’ work guarantee a long and trouble-free operation of a fiber optic line!
